Comproved
Assessing people and tasks fairly and correctly: that is the goal of every assessor or teacher. But how qualitative are these assessments? Teachers have to give scores on students' works that are often impossible to assess objectively. Research shows that on a 20-point scale teachers sometimes differ by 8 points when they assess the same student. Why, for example, does one piece of work deserve a six and another a seven? Comproved has been researching that question for years. As a spin-off of the University of Antwerp we help companies and organisations to qualitatively assess and simplify complex assessments, selections or decisions. To do so Comproved has developed a scientifically underpinned software tool based on comparative judgment. After all, the way people make decisions is always by making comparisons. Our Comparing tool is fast, user-friendly and works very simple: we always show two 'works' and ask you to choose the best one. By comparing all 'works' several times and involving enough evaluators, a reliable ranking is created which you can link to scores. The result? Your assessments are of a higher quality, more reliable and also form a learning opportunity. Because anyone who is being assessed can learn a lot from this assessment. At Comproved we want to inspire people and stimulate a mind shift in fair assessment. Together we lift assessments and learning effects to a higher level. Curious how we can help you with assessments? Don't hesitate to send us a message or read more about our comparing tool at https://comproved.com/en/comparing-tool/

Emib Energy And Materials In Infrastructure And Buildings
Overview The built environment is the result of a chain of materials, companies, people, and their complex interactions. Redefining sustainability in one link of the chain inevitably requires a re-evaluation of the sustainability of other parts. This trade-off poses a conceptual challenge, which is addressed in the research on sustainability assessments. As the sustainability of the built environment is strongly characterized by buildings themselves, a particular interest is paid to the interaction of buildings with users and (building) infrastructure. Consequently, building energy performance is a key performance indicator we use to assess the sustainability of the built environment. However, energy performance is not the only KPI and therefore, only one part of the comprehensive sustainability assessment expertise/services/framework we offer. Research domain EMIB is a multi-disciplinary research group focusing on the transformation of buildings, infrastructure and the whole built environment to a more sustainable manner. The built environment is the result of a chain of materials, companies, people and their complex interactions. Through research and collaboration with industry the EMIB-research group aims to improve the performance of new and existing building stock and infrastructure. We focus on the whole live cycle, considering sustainability and cost-effectiveness, with a strong incorporated expertise in assessing energy performance (in both building and community scales), HVAC systems and greenery solutions.

Cego Experiential Education, Ku Leuven
EXE answers the key question about ‘quality’ by pointing to indicators that help us to sense if what we are doing (context) is leading to somewhere (outcomes). It considers two variables as key indicators for the ‘power’ of the learning environment: the degree of ‘emotional well-being’ and the level of ‘involvement’ (intense mental activity) of the learners. These are the touchstones to create an effective educational context. Several variants of the Leuven Involvement Scale have been developed to cover a wide array of settings, from the care for babies/toddlers up to professionals in in-service training. Together with instruments for the assessment of ‘well-being’ these involvement scales are at the center of diverse child/student monitoring systems, instruments for self-evaluation of settings/ schools, and procedures for self-rating of involvement and well-being by children, students and professionals – all as part of overall quality assessment and improvement. The expertise has been broadened to the output of education. This research is guided by the concept of ‘deep-level-learning’. The framework for this rests on the Piagetian concept of ‘schema’ a basis to map competencies and dispositions. Both at the level of concepts, instruments and guidelines for practice, expertise has been developed with regard to life skills, competencies, dispositions and talents in a wide range of areas, with a special interest for the exploratory drive, intuition and creativity, the understanding of the physical world (including technology), social competence and mental health, and self-organization & entrepreneurship.

Uamc Medicinal Chemistry Research Group
UAMC is focused on the therapeutic domains of infectious diseases, inflammation, and cell death/survival. The UAMC compounds are mostly targeting enzymes, often proteases. For the discovery of these compounds we use medicinal and computational chemistry approaches, but we are also investing considerably in other techniques such as covalent inhibitors and activity-based probes, bioorthogonal chemistry, bioimaging, fragment-based research such as the modified substrate activity screening (MSAS) developed in house, and on-target synthesis. Our main research topics are: Inflammation; Cell death/survival; In silico drug design; Exploratory pr.otease targets; Infectious diseases; and Technology development.

100twh
100 TWh is a group of Belgian citizens who are active in the debate on the energy future in Belgium, especially in the contexte of the political deadline of 2025. We advocate for a sustainable and competitive energy policy, which ensures the security of our electricity supply over the long term, by using different low-carbon primary energy sources. We believe that the best mix of electricity is a maximum of renewable (preferably continuous, but also intermittent) in combination with a nuclear base load to ensure the stability of the electricity grid and to meet the growing demand of domestic and industrial consumers. For us, Belgium must participate in the international development of Generation IV nuclear power. We have university skills and research and innovation centers to become a major player in the future of nuclear. It's important for our energy future, but also for our industrial future. Agrotopia
