African School Of Economics

The African School of Economics is the largest center for training and research in economics and management in Africa. Headquartered in Abomey-Calavi, Benin, ASE offers a wide range of graduate degrees in Business Administration, Public and International Affairs, Quantitative Methods and Economics, and Development Studies, as well as executive degree programs. The African School of Economics is the expansion of the Institute for Empirical Research in Political Economy (IERPE), founded in 2004. A total of 63 students are enrolled in ASE's MMES program and MBA programs for the academic year 2014-2015, hailing from 13 different countries. Our six faculty members come from top universities from the US, Canada and Europe.

The CREC/LSHTM Collaborative Research Programme is a research partnership set up in 2003, between the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in the UK and the Centre de Recherche Entomologique de Cotonou held at the Ministry of Health in Benin. The partnership has extensive experience in the evaluation of vector control products (mainly long-lasting insecticidal nets and Indoor residual spraying) according to WHO standards. It is part of PAMVERC (The Pan-African Malaria Vector Research Consortium) and its research activities are largely funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) through the Innovative Vector Control Consortium (IVCC), the WHO and chemical companies.

Depuis février 2019, nous avons aidé nos clients à collecter, traiter, analyser et diffuser des données pertinentes dans les secteurs variés tel que de l’agriculture, de la microfinance, de l’emploi et de l’entreprenariat, de l’économie numérique et de l’eau, hygiène et assainissement. Pan-African Malaria Vector Research Consortium Pamverc-Benin

The Pan African Malaria Vector Research Consortium (PAMVERC) was founded in 2008 as a consortium of three African Based insecticide and vector control testing sites. They are located at Moshi Kilimanjaro, Magu Mwanza and Muheza Tanga in Tanzania and in Cotonou, Benin. The individual trial sites have historical collaboration with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). PAMVERC was established to bring together unique features of each trial site produced by location of the sites in different ecological regions of Africa. The sites have a spectrum of all the main malaria-transmitting mosquito species in Africa, namely An. gambiae s.s, An. arabiensis and An. funestus, with different resistance status mechanisms, different levels of malaria transmission intensity and different vector population structures. Within PAMVERC there is an opportunity for collaborative research on a broad spectrum of vector control topics ranging from insecticide testing to regional control of malaria. Les missions assignées à MyTIPS concernent les enseignements et recherche sur tous les aspects impliquant les champignons aussi bien microscopiques que macroscopiques, suivant les aspects taxonomiques, écologiques, de distribution, d’exploitation et conservation durable des ressources fongiques et leur habitat. Notre centre d’intérêt porte principalement sur les macromycètes inféodés aux écosystèmes forestiers (notamment les ectomycorrhiziens). Nos activités de recherche couvrent mais les champignons du sol et la symbiose mycorrhizienne (ectomycorrhizienne et vésiculaires-arbusculaires). L’intérêt porté sur les saprotrophes est orienté sur leurs domestications et mise en culture. Sur le plan académique, les membres de MyTIPS assurent des charges d’enseignement et d’encadrement sur les thématiques en rapport avec (1) Technique d’Inventaire et Suivi des communautés fongiques,(2) Production de champignons comestibles,(3) Symbiose mycorrhizienne,(4) Biofertilisation à base des champignons (5) Phylogénie/Phylogéographie,(6) Code barre ADN, systématique moléculaire des échantillons biologiques et environnementaux y compris les applications bio-informatiques,(7) exploitation durable et conservation des champignons. Par ailleurs, MyTIPS anime régulièrement des manifestations scientifiques, sous forme de formations régionales intensives, d’ateliers et séminaires, visant la mise à niveau des chercheurs juniors Africains dans le domaine de la mycologie tropicale. A côté de la recherche fondamentale, MyTIPS se propose de mener des activités de recherche-développement, en produisant et en mettant sur le marché divers produits à base de champignons (aliments enrichis aux champignons locaux, fabrication d’épices à base de champignons, fabrication de biofertilisants et bio pesticides).
