Cmf - Center For Molecular Fingerprinting
Our goal is to develop, validate and establish a simple method for the ‘molecular fingerprinting’ of blood samples, based on the use of an innovative, cutting-edge, ultrafast laser technology. At present, many types of cancer can only be reliably detected by careful examination of multiple tissue samples (biopsies). Our new method dispenses with the need for biopsies, as it is designed to detect the changes in the chemical composition of the blood that reveal the presence of cancer cells in the body, i.e. the cancer’s molecular fingerprint. Our efforts are primarily focused on the development of oncological diagnostics for the most common malignancies: cancers of the breast, lung and prostate gland.

Rcisd
The Regional Centre for Information and Scientific Development (RCISD) is an innovative SME, founded by scientists and R&D managers to carry out scientific research, for participating in coordinating & support actions. It is a kind of back office where the management R&D activities can be outsourced. Although RCISD is involved mainly in management and implementation of R&D projects including mapping, social and political analysis, etc, it is participating in the research activities too. The flexibility of the SME makes it possible being a major contributor to a research by employing R&D personnel for the duration of a project. Coordination and support (organisation of a workshop or a reception, etc.) is much easier in a small company then in large research entities like a university or a research centre. As a well established platform for regional and international cooperation RCISD is particularly interested in contributing to the development and integration of support strategies and decision making practices in strategic international cooperation projects too. The mission of RCISD is two-folded- Extending competitiveness of enterprises, research entities and universities by inciting the partners’ innovative activity and network cooperation, especially in international projects- Sharing up-to-date knowledge with university, research and enterprise professionals, also with enterprises, local governments, their institutions and non-governmental organizations through the adequate mediation of the accumulated knowledge. RCISD’s concrete tasks are the sharing of up-to-date knowledge and counselling for enterprises, local governments and non-governmental organizations in the above mentioned fields- research & development - incubation consulting and services - project management - innovation marketing services - searching for investors and partners, mediation - project development - technological consulting - coordination of project teams

It is partially financed by private donations, European research funds, and government contract work. The aim of the Institute is to systematically explore the causes, characteristics, and consequences of low quality of government in an inter-disciplinary approach drawing on political science, economics, law, and data science. The Institute aims to aid citizens to hold governments accountable through the publication of large datasets and robust analysis. The unique research approach builds on Big Data, statistical analysis, and qualitative methods in order to thoroughly analyse micro phenomena as well as understand macro behaviour. Making research findings accessible for the wider public and developing effective policy solutions is at the heart of what we do. We believe, it is only through understanding and precisely measuring government behaviour we can build good government.

Hungarian Young Academy
Young Academies aim to support junior scientists and to get their voices heard by decision-makers as they race to produce academic knowledge and meet ever-evolving research-evaluation procedures. They also advocate science’s role in helping to meet societal challenges, and provide authentic, trustworthy information in an era of misinformation, disinformation and fake news. Many early-career researchers juggle these demands alongside precarious positions and caring responsibilities. The Hungarian Young Academy was launched in 2019. As founding members, we wanted to share how we went about getting it live. We hope our experience will be useful to early-career researchers who are keen to set up a Young Academy in their country, and to raise awareness about the types of activities that Young Academies get involved in.

Biological Barriers Research Group
Biological barriers protect our body from harmful effects. They also block the penetration of therapeutics and make pharmacological treatments of different organs, like the brain difficult. In addition, they may be damaged in illnesses, like diabetes, Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s diseases, or acute pancreatitis. Our goal is 1. to develop novel devices and models for the investigation of biological barriers 2. to enhance drug penetration across biological barriers by new techniques 3. to protect barriers in disease conditions We use human cell based culture models of the blood-brain, the intestinal, the lung, the bronchial, the nasal and the cornea barriers. In addition to static culture models we also use organ-on-chip devices with flow to mimic the physiological conditions. Currently we test peptides to open or cross barriers and nanoparticles targeted for the transporters of the blood-brain barrier. Our group is expert in cellular toxicity assays, barrier function and drug penetration measurements, preparation, characterization and testing vesicular nanoparticles.

Hungarian Institute For Forensic Sciences
The Hungarian Institute for Forensic Sciences came into existence in 2017 based upon the merger of the two previous hungarian expert institute, the former Hungarian Institute for Forensic Sciences (Bűnügyi Szakértői és Kutatóintézet) and the Network of Forensic Sciences Institutes (Igazságügyi Szakértői és Kutató Intézetek). The organisational concept behind the merger was to unite the advantages of the different leading systems of the former institutes (regional management and central staff in NFSI and the managment system based on field of expertise in HIFS). Nevex Institute
The NEVEX Institute intends to be involved in the licensing process as an accredited, official partner of the national authorities, thereby speed up the registration of new products and, ultimately, their route to Hungarian users. This is in common interests of producers, traders, farmers and the authority as well. Through transparent, accredited, by highest industry standards driven operation and the knowledge of latest business trends we want to effectively ensure a successful registration process for active ingredients and chemical products in the European Union, in unique (Public Private Partnership) model. More strict EU legislation continues to exclude previously well usable molecules that are more harmful to our environment, and the plant protection products using them, so it is exceedingly important to the replacement or new products to put on the market as fast as possible. It is therefore necessary to facilitate the accurate, efficient, and reliable scientific evaluation, with full focus of both the national and EU rules, by the expectation of the producers. Our goal is, in addition to enforcing the National and European Union regulatory systems, assisting the permitting process, the effective, modern and environmentally less harmful products should be added to the tools of Hungarian producers as fast as possible.
