Mengawali berdirinya Universitas Hasanuddin secara resmi pada tahun 1956, di kota Makassar pada tahun 1947 telah berdiri Fakultas Ekonomi yang merupakan cabang Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Indonesia (UI) Jakarta berdasarkan keputusan Letnan Jenderal Gubernur Pemerintah Hindia Belanda Nomor 127 tanggal 23 Juli 1947. Karena ketidakpastian yang berlarut-larut dan kekacauan di Makassar dan sekitarnya maka fakultas yang dipimpin oleh Drs L.A. Enthoven (Direktur) ini dibekukan dan baru dibuka kembali sebagai cabang Fakultas Ekonomi Universitas Indonesia pada 7 Oktober 1953 di bawah pimpinan Prof. Drs. G.H.M. Riekerk. Fakultas Ekonomi benar-benar hidup sebagai cikal bakal Universitas Hasanuddin setelah dipimpin acting ketua Prof. Drs. Wolhoff dan sekretarisnya Drs. Mohammad Baga pada tanggal 1 September 1956 sampai diresmikannya Universitas Hasanuddin pada tanggal 10 September 1956.

Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya University is a private university in Surabaya which was founded on June 19, 1981. The university has programs for undergraduate, postgraduate, and diploma levels. The university is owned by a foundation called Yayasan Wijayakusuma which was founded in 1980 which is the main parent of Wijaya Kusuma University in Surabaya. The establishment of the University has obtained an Operational License by Kopertis Region VII with letter number: 122 / I / 1981 with the opening of the University on September 21, 1981, as well as an inaugural lecture with 6 faculties namely: Engineering, Agriculture, Law, Economics, Social Sciences & Sciences Politics and Teacher Training and Education were later changed to become the Faculty of Language and Science. Then based on Kopertis Region VII operational permit number: 582 / Kop.VII / Q / 1986, the Faculty of Medicine was established in 1986, which was the first Faculty of Medicine in the Private University in Eastern Indonesia. The symbol of Wijaya Kusuma Surabaya University consists of a upgrading temple with a golden yellow background in a pentagon frame, symbolizing the majesty of the Majapahit kingdom framed by the Pancasila philosophy with the motto "ANGGUNG WIMBUH LINUWIH".

The Indonesian Research Institute for Biotechnology and Bioindustry (IRIBB) or known as Pusat Penelitian Bioteknologi dan Bioindustri in Bahasa Indonesia was founded in January 2015. The institute was the transformation from The Indonesian Biotechnology Research Institute for Estate Crops (IBRIEC), founded in February 1993 which was previously known as Bogor Research Institute for Estate Crops (Pusat Penelitian Perkebunan Bogor) established in 1989. This national research center was originally developed from a regional research center, namely Bogor Research Institute for Estate Crops (Bogor-RIEC/Balai Penelitian Perkebunan Bogor). The regional research center was established in 1968 by merging two research stations, namely the Balai Penelitian Perkebunan Besar (ex Centrale Proefstation Vereneging-CPV) and Balai Penelitian dan Pemakaian Karet (ex Indonesisch Instituut voor Rubber Onderzoek-INIRO). These two research stations had their own unique histories dated back to 1901, during the early establishment of state owned plantations in Indonesia by the Dutch colonial government. Although the name and its mandate have been changed several times, the premises in which research activities had been conducted remain standing in their original form as in 1926. The mission of the Institute is to accelerate and support a sustainable development of the estate crops and agricultural industry in Indonesia based on an environmentally sound management. In realizing that mission, research, development, and services on biotechnology are being conducted to improve plant productivity, product quality, management efficiency, value enhancement and environmental quality in order to sustain the competitiveness of the estate industry. History The establishment of a research center within the academic community at the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia was spearheaded by Prof. Dr. Soemitro Djojohadikusomo. In 1953, Prof. Dr. Soemitro Djojohadikusomo, who was serving as the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia, set up two research centers. They are called Seminar Business Administration and Social Research Center. The objective of establishing both research centers was to support the research activities by doctoral candidates. Pusat Studi Kependudukan Dan Kebijakan Ugm
Pusat Studi Kependudukan dan Kebijakan, Universitas Gadjah Mada atau PSKK UGM merupakan lembaga penelitian yang mendedikasikan diri kepada perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Lembaga riset yang berdiri sejak April 1973 ini telah banyak melakukan penelitian kependudukan dan kebijakan dengan mengaitkan berbagai dimensi sosial, budaya, ekonomi, politik, dan kesehatan. Selain itu, lembaga juga telah menghasilkan banyak peneliti dan akademisi bidang kependudukan dan kebijakan dengan reputasi nasional serta internasional. Di awal berdirinya, tema penelitian fokus pada persoalan konvensional tentang dinamika kependudukan seperti fertilitas, mortalitas, mobility pattern, serta value of children. Kini, berkembang pada isu kependudukan dan kebijakan yang lebih kontemporer seperti transformasi rural dan aktivitas agrikultural, migrasi buruh internasional, gender, kesehatan reproduksi, seksualitas, keamanan sosial dan kebijakan sosial, pelayanan publik, serta governance dan desentralisasi. PSKK juga melakukan studi komparasi internasional tentang berbagai masalah seperti cross-border migration, migrasi perempuan, anak-anak di wilayah konflik, perdagangan manusia, dan masih banyak lainnya. Sebagai bagian dari Universitas Gadjah Mada, PSKK turut merespon visi UGM sebagai World Class Research University dengan mendirikan program Master dan Doktor di bidang Studi Kebijakan. Magister Studi Kebijakan (MSK) didirikan pada pertengahan 2004, sementara program Doktor Studi Kebijakan pada 2008. Pendiriannya juga untuk mengembangkan “sekolah penelitian”. The development of Islamic economics in the world has been growing rapidly. Research and scientific studies in Islamic Economics become a necessity. This was responded by several activists of Islamic Economics (Prof. Ainun Na’im, Drs. Dumairy MA, Edhie Purnawan, Ph.D, Taufikur Rahman, MBA, Akhmad A. Susamto, Ph.D.) in Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UGM to initiate the establishment of an Islamic economics and business studies center at UGM. Presence of high thoughts and intentions, they established LEBI (Laboratory of Islamic Economics and Business) in Ramadan 1429 H (2008). Furthermore, with the high support from EBReDA (Economics and Business Research and Development Agency) Penelitian Pelatihan Ekonomika dan Bisnis (P2EB) FEB UGM, PKEBS FEB UGM as a research center which is an extension of LEBI FEB UGM successfully established in 2016. Vision To be a research institution that supports Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada to be the best faculty of economics and business in Indonesia and highly respected in South-East Asia in sharia economics teaching and knowledge advancement, both in theoretical and practical level. Mission To develop human resources with strong integrity and advanced knowledge on sharia economics, business, and finance so as to spreading sharia economics across the world and promote the betterment of the society.

Irdh Research
IRDH (International Research and Development for Human Beings) is a research institution and development in disciplines by featuring a commitment to spread knowledge universally in the field of social and non-social (exact science) for human being. By neglecting differences of nations, religions, skin colors, languages, tribes, and social status, it is projecting to create advanced civilization of “Shining Star of Human’s Affection” which is under-lied by the sublime knowledge. Since 2002, IRDH was pioneered by the establishment of Youth Leadership Center (YLC) in 2001, Children Leadership School (CLS) in 2002 and School of International Programs (SIP) in 2008. These three educational institutions had been helping students of elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, and universities and also school’s teachers and civil society in Indonesia in various fields of knowledge (since 2002-2011). During their beginning contribution, those institutions were supervised and licensed by regional Government’s Education Department and had been providing informal education. On January 17th 2012, we established IRDH, a formal research education institution which has crossed the boundaries of relation with some universities, organizations and non-states organizations, nationwide government and across nations as well. By focusing on the research and formal education, IRDH tries to eliminate primordial boundaries and tries to realize the leading purpose that is to help and to give educational contributions, not only locally or regionally area, but also internationally. It is a long-winding road and a tough way that need to be traversed by IRDH; to establish free Educational Institution for orphans, children who are victimized by war aftermath, natural disaster victims, and the other victims of tyranny or any unwanted catastrophes. Those who are accepted and educated are those who have willingness to study. The future plan is to establish International University in which the students are the teenager of war victims, low-economy, and orphans. However, they have to generate passion and capability to continue their study in the Bachelor, Master and PhD degree through this institution. Last but not least, the founder and owner of this institution is Cakti Indra Gunawan, SE, MM, PhD who has been experienced as a lecturer in several colleges and universities in Indonesia since and has created some scientific works in the national and international degree and presenting many international papers. This institution has been supported by his mother, Sri Redjeki and his father, M i n o, his colleagues, and even his big families who has the intention to realize the magnificent purpose for human beings.
