The United Nations University International Institute for Software Technology (UNU-IIST), established in Macau in 1992, is one of the Research and Training Centers of UNU. For nearly a generation, we have provided vital research on critical software systems while mentoring exceptional academics from around the developing world. At the turn of a new decade, we build on our invaluable heritage as we seek to address some of the most challenging problems of sustainable development. Curb - Center For Architecture And Urbanism
CURB – Center for Architecture and Urbanism is a non-profit independent organization established in Macau in 2013 as a think tank on the future of cities and their architecture. CURB mission is to promote the research, education, production and diffusion of knowledge in the fields of architecture, urbanism, design and urban culture. CURB develops and supports projects that serve the interests of the community, establishing itself as an exchange platform between the academia, the civil society and government institutions, through research studies, workshops, conferences, exhibitions, competitions, and other initiatives. CURB works both on a regional level – Macau, Pearl River Delta and China – and on an international level – particularly in Asia and Portuguese-speaking countries –, taking local issues to a global audience. CURB has a permanent research team and its space incorporates a library and documentation archive, and studio, conference and gallery areas. The establishment of partnerships, cooperation programs and co-productions with local and international institutions are preferred tools for CURB’s mission as a think tank on the future of cities and their architecture. CURB is an Associate Partner in the World Urban Campaign, part of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), and a Member of the Open House Worldwide Family.
