Syrian Researchers Foundation

Syrian Researchers is a scientific network addressing Arabic speaking individuals and societies. It was launched by a group of academics in Syria and abroad to raise the scientific and academic level of the Syrian society in particular and in the Arab one in general, and to spread science in all readable, audible and visual means. Today,"Syrian Researchers" is considered the largest Arabic scientific assemblage on the internet by its quantity of daily-published scientific content and by the number of its followers and visits. The activities of Syrian Researchers can be divided into several domains: publishing and translating local and international scientific research, developing scientific visual content in an attractive and modern way, responding to readers’ inquiries and providing academic and scientific consolations, in addition to organizing scientific activities and fairs and developing partnerships with direct or indirect added value. The scientific method, work organizing and having faith in our goals are credited for our pioneering role in the Arab world. Believing in their slogan "Science is the solution" the team works on spreading scientific awareness as a first step to raise the scientific and academic level of the Syrian society and the Arab one in general. Goals- Publishing scientific researches and articles in Arabic for Arabic readers- Spreading the notion of science and scientific research and raising awareness about related issues in Arab societies- Cooperate with international and Arab scientific and academic associations- Establishing a scientific Arabic TV channel- Publishing the researches conducted by Syrian and Arab individuals and associations- Encouraging and funding scientific research- Supporting the Syrian and Arab students to complete their study in the international universities.

National Agricultural Policy Center Napc

The National Agricultural Policy Center (NAPC) is a research institution of the Syrian Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform (MAAR). It was established in and was supported by the FAO Project GCP/SYR/006/ITA, funded by the Italian Cooperation during the period 1998-2008. The significant role of the NAPC and its professional outcomes has attracted the attention of several international institutions to express their willingness to assist and cooperate with the Center in carrying out its work plan. In particular, the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) offered its kind support to fund the NAPC 2009 -2010 Work Plan. The NAPC specializes in applied economic analysis of agricultural policies. Research and communication are the two pillars of the Center, which has emerged as a forum for agricultural policy debate. The NAPC is a center of excellence in research, training, and advice on the subject of the sustainable development of Syrian agriculture. The NAPC also promotes the establishment of a permanent policy forum to enhance dialogue on agricultural issues among stakeholders and policy makers and to furnish these decision-makers with sound and appropriate policy recommendations.

The Syrian Consulting Bureau was established in Damascus in 1997 by Dr. Nabil Sukkar, former Senior Economist at the World Bank in Washington D.C. Since its establishment, SCB has carried out various macro-economic and sector studies in addition to conducting numerous feasibility and market assignments. Macro-economic studies covered such issues as investment and export promotion, fiscal and monetary policies, banking reform, education, manpower development, governance and institution building. Sector studies covered industry, agriculture, energy, banking, insurance and health. Feasibility studies were mainly for projects in manufacturing, finance, tourism and commerce, agro and metals industries. Market studies and research were of a quantitative and qualitative nature including surveys (via telephone, mail, and web), face-to-face interviews, focus groups and in-depth interviews. SCB also offers generalized and customized corporate training in such subjects as strategic leadership, marketing strategies, creative selling and team building.
