Academic Consulting Ltd
We are an Auckland based company that is on a mission to help researchers complete outstanding research. Our training courses focus on the skills researchers need to manage, analyse, and write-up their research data. We can teach you how to use data analysis software such as NVivo or SPSS, techniques for coding qualitative data or calculating statistical tests, and how to write up/format the results of your hard work. All our facilitators are experienced and passionate researchers who enjoy sharing practical tips that attendees can apply to their own projects. Our full training schedule can be viewed at: If you're about to embark on a project, or are in the midst of it and not sure where you're heading, we offer research consultations either online or in-person. A consultation with us can save you significant time, and will ensure you’re on track to produce a great piece of research. Our data analysis and reporting services are ideal for researchers who have collected data and have limited time to analyse it or write it up - simply hand the work over to us. If you've written the work yourself, and would like your work checked before publishing, then let us look after your formatting, proofreading and reference checking. We understand these tasks are probably the last thing you feel like doing after completing your work, and are not always the best use of your time. Connect with us on LinkedIn for updates from our blog and details of our training schedule, or if you'd like to chat in person, don't hesitate to get in touch.

Maurice Wilkins Centre
The Maurice Wilkins Centre produces world class research and makes exciting scientific discoveries. We harness and link New Zealand’s outstanding expertise in biomedical research to develop cutting-edge drugs and vaccines, tools for early diagnosis and prevention, and new models of disease. Our mission is to bring together scientists from a range of disciplines and research institutions to target serious human disease. Accordingly, the centre serves as a virtual hub, or point of contact, for a broad range of scientific expertise in molecular biodiscovery. Our major research focus is to improve the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, diabetes and infectious disease. By seeding high-risk, high-reward projects, we support research that is not funded by other mechanisms. Through contract research, consultancy and sharing of facilities and expertise, we have contributed to the creation and development of new companies as well as contributing to innovation within established companies. Our fundamental scientific discoveries and novel technologies enable new lines of research that advance the understanding of human disease and enable innovation in other sectors, including New Zealand’s primary industries. We are working to strategically align the research programmes and infrastructure of our investigators up and down the country. This produces synergies, and increases the efficiency and competitiveness of New Zealand biomedical research, by enabling the sharing of expertise and resources, and improving access to advanced research equipment.

While many of our members have supervisors or colleagues affiliated with Te Pūnaha Matatini, our Whānau is an inclusive group and we welcome anyone who feels their research aligns with one or more of Te Pūnaha Matatini’s research themes and is keen to be involved. Many of our members are undertaking trans-disciplinary research which can make it difficult to fit in to any one department at their institute. By belonging to our Whānau network our members can feel part of a collective and meet other researchers who share their interest in complex systems and networks. Te Pūnaha Matatini Whānau provides a space for collaboration and skill-sharing, and we encourage our members to take an active role in shaping our goals and activities.
