Art Gallery Fold
Galleri Fold is Iceland’s leading exhibition and auction house. Established in 1990, the present proprietors have owned Galleri Fold since 1992. In 1994, the gallery acquired its own premises at Raudararstigur 14, where it has since grown and flourished. The gallery now occupies a 600 m2 building with five exhibition spaces, ranging from 30 - 110 m2. Generally, Galleri Fold sells the work of over sixty of Iceland’s best-known artists. The gallery also resells artworks on behalf of individuals and companies, both directly and at auctions. Therefore we always offer a wide range of quality artworks. There is no wider collection of Icelandic visual artworks. Galleri Fold holds monthly art auctions during the winter, which are generally well-attended. Approximately one hundred artworks are auctioned each time. Our auction catalogue is available in the gallery or at myndlist.is. An innovation in our operations is internet auctions, at uppbod.is. There you can bid for works that are only for sale on the internet, or submit advance bids for works to be sold at larger auctions. Galleri Fold can assess the value of artworks for individuals, companies, insurance companies and institutions. Our assessments are based on in-depth knowledge of the Icelandic art market and on current price levels for artworks, as reflected in a database maintained by the gallery, covering all auctions of artworks that have taken place in Iceland. Dozens of overseas visitors visit our gallery each week to acquaint themselves with the latest developments in the Icelandic art scene. We package artworks for export. In order to provide still better services for our clients, the gallery opened a framing workshop in 2001. It is fitted with the best available equipment and frames visual artworks for the gallery’s artists as well as for its clients. Our framers are Guild Commended Framers Galleri Fold is a member of the Fine Art Trade Guild

Framkvæmdafélag Listamanna, Frafl
FRAFL is an Icelandic Visual Art Organisation and manages and produces visual art projects in Iceland as well as internationally. FRAFL approaches the projects as project managers, i.e. through project planning, funding, management of the framework, promotion, developing, producing and procedure managing, giving the artists the time to work freely on their part of the project, namely creating their art. FRAFL´s objective is to approach the traditional art market with new methods and platforms and therefore creating new and different ways for young or emerging artist to enter the market, where the artist’s rights are respected and their interests protected. In addition, FRAFL’ s objective is to bring visual art closer to the general public; by exploring new avenues, by supporting collaboration and cooperation within the art scene and also where visual art interwines with other art forms and by supporting different media than has hitherto been found in the general art market so that art can be more accessible to the public. FRAFL is about people; to interact with them, collaborate, share experience, respect their work, interests and opinions. The objective of FRAFL is to listen and learn from others and create personal relations and connections between the different members and participant of the art scene as a whole.
