The club is for everyone but there is a special emphasis placed on empowering young women and second generation Icelandic immigrants through the game of basketball- Raise the Bar In the beginning of year 2021, the long awaited documentary, Raise the Bar, premiered in Iceland. The documentary provided greater insight into the team’s story. It gave audiences a chance to get to know the girls, and their individual struggles and achievements. Einherjar is an American Football organization overseeing all operations of organized Senior Competition Football, Youth Tackle football and Flag Football in Iceland. Einherjar was founded in 2009 and organizes adult and youth international friendly matches as well as domestic competitions between youth teams in Reykjavík and Grindavík. Einherjar are a recognized sporting organization by the Icelandic Olympic Committee as of 2022 and are under the UMSK sports governing body.
