The Vienna Center for Disarmament and Non-Proliferation is an international non-governmental organization established on the initiative of the Austrian Foreign Ministry in 2010. It is operated by the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. The official opening ceremony of the VCDNP was held on 25 February 2011 at the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria. The VCDNP’s mission is to promote international peace and security by providing a platform for independent analysis and dialogue in the field of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation. In order to fulfill its mission, the VCDNP employs conferences, seminars, and other fora to foster result-oriented discussion among international organizations, national governments, non-governmental experts, scholars, and civil society. The Center partners with other academic and non-governmental institutions, as well as international organizations in conducting research, outreach, education, and training on non-proliferation and disarmament.

Die Rhetorik-Events dienen dazu, die eigene Meinung möglichst verständlich und gewinnend zu präsentieren. Fuckup Nights Graz
Die Vision der „FuckUp Nights“: Aus unternehmerischem Scheitern lernen. September 2012 in Mexiko: Fünf Freunde haben es satt, immer nur Erfolgsgeschichten zu hören und organisieren daher eine Veranstaltung, um das Scheitern zu zelebrieren, zu diskutieren, und das Lernen daraus zu feiern. Die erste Fuckup Night („FUN“) ist geboren. Fünf Jahre später hat sich das Format rund um den Globus verbreitet, und ist gleichermaßen spannend geblieben: Drei UnternehmerInnen erzählen, wie sie bei einem Projekt, Unternehmen, oder auch damit verbunden im Privatleben gescheitert sind – und was sie daraus gelernt haben und heute anders tun. Nach den etwa zehnminütigen Vorträgen hat das Publikum die Gelegenheit, Fragen zu stellen. In unserer Vision für Graz sind «FuckUp Nights Graz» eingebettet in verschiedenste Aktivitäten, die den Anlass bereichern und daraus eine live (!) Plattform für mutiges und nachhaltiges Unternehmertum schaffen. Because one learns from failure than success.

Fuckup Nights Tirol
Die FuckUp Nights sind eine 2012 in Mexiko entstandene globale Bewegung, die Geschichten übers Scheitern, Fehler machen und wieder Aufstehen – vorwiegend von UnternehmerInnen – auf die Bühne bringt. Seit Oktober 2015 ist auch Innsbruck Teil dieser weltweit aktiven Community. In regelmäßigen Abständen wird sich seither in Die Bäckerei – Kulturbackstube in Innsbruck getroffen, Bier getrunken und offen über Dinge gesprochen, die in den Sand gesetzt wurden. 3 Personen, je 10 Bilder in 7 Minuten (die Regeln sind biegsam), gefolgt von Fragen aus dem Publikum. Jede FuckUp Night ist aufgrund der Persönlichkeiten, die den Mut haben diese Bühne zu erobern, einzigartig und spannend. Gespickt mit wichtigen, lehrreichen Erfahrungen und einer ordentlichen Portion Humor. “Gescheiterte” Persönlichkeiten haben einfach wahnsinnig viel zu erzählen und wertvolle Erfahrungen weiter zu geben, aus denen es unglaublich viel zu lernen gibt! Die IG Wien ist ein Team aus Student*innen und jungen Berufstätigen, das sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat, eine aktive Initiativgruppe für Wien zu schaffen, um somit weiteren engagierten, interessierten Kolleg*innen den Besuch des Forum Alpbachs zu ermöglichen. Aus diesem Grunde vergeben wir jährlich Stipendien. Wir als IG Wien kooperieren mit dem Europäischen Forum Alpbach und sind zudem Mitglied des FAN-Netzwerks, das mittlerweile bereits 30 Initiativgruppen und Clubs umfasst. Unsere Initiativgruppe IG Wien hat die folgenden Ziele:_ dem Gedanken eines gemeinsamen, solidarischen Europas Lebendigkeit zu verleihen, sowie den internationalen Austausch zu fördern _ eine Plattform für an Wissenschaft, Politik, Wirtschaft und Kultur interessierten jungen Menschen zu bieten, ein Forum zu kreieren, das die Stellungnahme zu den Themen und Problemstellungen unserer Zeit ermöglicht und unterstützt _ die Förderung der internationalen Zusammenarbeit zu gewährleisten _ den überparteilichen Charakter des Forum Alpbachs zu unterstützen und die Vielzahl der dort vertretenen Studienrichtungen zu sichern _ Diversität in ihren eigenen Strukturen, Themen und Ansätzen zu fördern, sowie beim Europäischen Forum Alpbach einzufordern Das Forum Alpbach ist renommierter, sowie bewährter Treffpunkt von Europas Studierenden, die aktiv zur interkulturellen, geistigen und politischen Basis zwischen den bestehenden und zukünftigen Mitgliedstaaten der Europäischen Union beitragen wollen. Teilnehmer*innen, zu denen rund 700 Student*innen aus über 70 verschiedenen Ländern zählen, treffen sich genau zu diesem Zwecke alljährlich in Alpbach.
