The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) is a professionally led manufacturing and service sector industry centered apex body of the large and medium scale industrial community of Nepal. It has a membership base consisting of nearly all of the big corporate houses of Nepal, Nepalese blue-chip companies, joint venture companies etc. spread across a wide and diversified spectrum constituting sectors related to manufacturing, information, communication and entertainment, banks and financial institutions, insurance, travel tourism and hospitality, utilities, infrastructure and construction etc. The organization focuses on larger businesses which are the substantial sectoral leaders of today’s economy. These include businesses from all sectors (with local or foreign investments) and is all-encompassing in terms of geography as well as the nature of the business, be it manufacturing, tourism, financial services, exports or infrastructure. The apex body of Nepalese industrialists, the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI), was established by the captains of Nepal’s Industrial and Corporate sector on April 17, 2002. Since its establishment, CNI has been raising issues like the persistent economic situation imbroglio, need for reforms in financial sector, strengthening of private sector's capabilities, the streamlining of private sector's initiation on development agenda, double digit growth issues and industrialization based on trade competitiveness. It is an organization that works in coordination with other organizations and is increasingly becoming involved in areas where the existing system has failed to deliver. The organization is working along the lines of several organizations in various developing countries such as India, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, etc. and hopes to hire expertise as well as bilateral support in development of the Confederation, the theme of which is, “Talking Business, Talking Change”.

Samata Foundation
Samata Foundation is the only Dalit-led independent think tank in Nepal,exclusively conducting research and evidence-based policy advocacy within the core context of caste-based discrimination and Dalit community. Samata Foundation was officially registered under the Company Act, 2063 BS as a profit-not-sharing organization in 2009. Samata Foundation provides concrete and scientific information to bring positive change in the society, helps to formulate new policies and amend the existing policies concerning the welfare of Dalit communities. It engages in empirical research and evidence-based policy advocacy for the rights of marginalized people, especially Dalit social groups, both from Hill and Madhesh. Samata’s core priorities are mainly focused to conduct various studies, compilation of Dalit related data, its analysis and publication of advocacy tools. Samala provides necessary support to lawmakers from both Dalit and non-Dalit communities with research-based information, publications, review of existing government policies and laws on Dalit issues. In order to achieve its intended goals and ensure long-term sustainability, Samata Foundation is investing in building capacity of young Dalit researchers and transforming the in-house resource center into a Dalit Knowledge Bank. As it nears its tenth anniversary, Samata Foundation has launched a nationwide mega-campaign to build a critical mass of Dalits and non Dalits, particularly youth, who believe in its vision of a society free of caste-based discrimination.

Policy Research Institute - Pri नीति अनुसन्धान प्रतिष्ठान
Policy Research Institute (PRI) is a think tank of the government of Nepal formed pursuant to the Policy Research Institute Board (formation) Ordinance 2018 (2075) by exercising the power conferred by Article 3 of Development Board Act 1958. Constitution of Nepal 2015 sets the constitutional context for PRI by underscoring the need of a strong knowledge center to support all aspects and stages of public policy processes. In Article 51, the Constitution outlines ‘Policies of the State’ and in Article 54 provisions a parliamentary committee to monitor and evaluate the progressive implementation of these policies. This is where the objectives of PRI are drawn from, objective being to review public policies, programs and strategies through rigorous research and analysis and provide policy recommendations to the government of Nepal. PRI has a wide mandate for policy research. The research sectors include, among others, security, international relations, economic development, social justice, transparency, good governance, corruption control, safety of public properties and revenue, resolution of conflict of interest, protection of environment, application of science and technology in development and governance reform. These sectors are clustered into five themes. Economic Affairs, Development and Infrastructure 2. Federal Affairs, Governance and Public Service Delivery 3. Political, Legal and Social Affairs 4. National Interests, Foreign Policy and Strategic Affairs 5. Science, Technology and Natural Resources PRI carries our policy research through in-house research team, consultants and collaborators including research institutions and universities, and shares the research outcome with the government and the public at large. Generation of high-quality knowledge products on policy matters through rigorous research and analysis is the aim as well as the commitment of the PRI.
