Association Of Engineers And Technicians Of Communication Of The Republic Of Poland
The Association of Polish Railway Engineers and Technicians, established in 1946, referred to the tradition of interwar technical organizations: the Association of Polish Railway Engineers, the Association of PKP Technical Administration Employees, the Association of Railway Technicians of the Republic of Poland, the Association of Road Engineers of the Republic of Poland, the Association of Members of Polish Road Congresses, and the Road League. The creation of the Association is due to the initiative group established at the end of 1945, consisting of: Zygmunt Balicki, Wacław Gordzialowski, Tadeusz Grochowski, Jan Kubalski, Zbigniew Modliński, Jan Różycki, Józef Skrzekot, Robert Szajer, Piotr Trzaskała, Józef Zgierski, which took the first organizational steps, aimed at establishing an Association uniting all communication engineers and technicians and other persons with seniority and professional experience in the field of communication or related fields. The purpose of establishing the Association of Engineers and Technicians of Communication of the Republic of Poland was: • development of technology in the field of civil engineering, communication and transport; • representing engineering and technical personnel before state and trade union authorities; • improving the professional qualifications of these staff; • protection of the profession; • organizing peer self-help. Currently - in accordance with the statutory provision - the Association of Engineers and Technicians of Communication of the Republic of Poland, commonly using the abbreviation SITK, is a scientific and technical organization with non-commercial goals, acting for the benefit of transport, primarily for the benefit of its members.
