HOPS d.o.o. is the sole electricity transmission system operator in the Republic of Croatia, and the owner of the entire Croatian transmission network (400 kV, 220kV and 110kV included voltage levels).

Istarski vodovod u svom svakodnevnom radu obavlja dvije osnovne djelatnosti, a to su javna vodoopskrba, koja uključuje crpljenje i distribuciju vode za piće, te izgradnja i održavanje sustava javne vodoopskrbe. Trgovačko društvo Istarski vodovod d.o.o. Buzet registrirano je 1995. godine kao trgovačko društvo za proizvodnju i distribuciju vode. Pravni oblik Društva je društvo s ograničenom odgovornošću sa sjedištem u Buzetu. Broji više od 300 radnika zaposlenih u poslovnim i radnim jedinicama na prostoru cijelog područja djelovanja te u stručnim službama u Buzetu. Kvalifikacijska struktura radnika te njihova znanja i vještine zadovoljavaju sve složenije tehnološke potrebe u tim djelatnostima. Društvo vodi stalnu brigu o stručnom usavršavanju i obrazovanju zaposlenika kako bi mogli pratiti razvoj u procesu gospodarenja vodom. Istarski vodovod, čije je sjedište u Buzetu, djeluje na pet lokacijski odvojenih poslovnih jedinica (PJ) u Bujama, Buzetu, Pazinu, Poreču i Rovinju i šest ispostava (Karojba, Kaštelir, Novigrad, Umag, Vrsar i Žminj), a proizvodnja vode odvija se u radnim jedinicama (RJ), smještenima u blizini tri izvora odakle se crpi voda: Sveti Ivan, Gradole i Bulaž te akumulacijsko jezero Butoniga. Sveobuhvatne poslovne funkcije se obavljaju u Stručnim službama u Buzetu, kroz Odjel za financijske i računovodstvene poslove, Odjel za pravne poslove i ljudske resurse, Tehnički odjel, Odjel za poslove nabave i planiranja, Odjel Informatike i GIS-a. Uz osnovnu djelatnost javne vodoopskrbe – sakupljanje, pročišćavanje i distribuciju vode, Društvo je registrirano i za: ispitivanje zdravstvene ispravnosti vode za piće za vlastite potrebe, izvođenje vodovodnih priključaka, umjeravanje vodomjera te proizvodnju energije za vlastite potrebe. Na području djelovanja Društva, unatoč nepogodnoj konfiguraciji terena, postoji jedan od najsloženijih i najefikasnijih sustava vodoopskrbe, što svjedoči o visokom standardu života ljudi na ovom prostoru.
