Japan Air Self-Defense Force
The Japan Air Self-Defense Force, JASDF, also informally referred to as the Japanese Air Force, is the air warfare branch of the Japan Self-Defense Forces, responsible for the defense of Japanese airspace and for other aerospace operations. The JASDF carries out combat air patrols around Japan, while also maintaining a network of ground and air early-warning radar systems. The branch also has an aerobatic team known as Blue Impulse and has provided air transport in UN peacekeeping missions. The JASDF had an estimated personnel as of 2013, and as of 2020 operates about 740 aircraft, approximately 330 of them fighter aircraft. As early as 2023, the service's name will change to the Japan Air and Space Self-Defense Force in recognition of the increasing importance of the space domain.

The USS George Washington was Commissioned on July 4th 1992 at Norfolk Naval Base in Virginia."GW" is the fourth ship of the fleet to bear the name and the sixth Nimitz Class nuclear aircraft carrier. The mission of USS George Washington (CVN-73) is to carry, launch, and recover naval combat aircraft and to conduct sustained combat air operations in support of United States national interests. During the maiden voyage in 1994, George Washington (CVN-73) was the US Flagship for the 50th Anniversary of the D-Day Invasion of Normandy (Operation Overlord) celebration in Portsmouth, England and commemoration ceremony near Omaha Beach in France. The Official Insignia Patch for USS George Washington (CVN-73) was designed by the crew and the motor "Spirit of Freedom" comes from a letter written in the battlefield by George Washington to his wife, Martha, to describe the the attitude of his troops and the sentiment of the American people.

NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Yokosuka is the Western Pacific region’s largest U.S. Navy logistics command. From its headquarters off Truman Bay, just 26 miles (41 kilometers) due south of Tokyo, the NAVSUP FLC Yokosuka enterprise networks more than 20 detachments, sites and fuel terminals from Misawa, Japan, to Sydney, Australia; Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean to Guam. Together, these detachments and sites provide logistics support to the Navy, Marine Corps, other Department of Defense and federal activities within the 7th Fleet Area of Operations.
