Y-Peer Egypt
Y-PEER Egypt is one of the oldest and most populated youth network in the Y-PEER international established and initiated by UNFPA in 2002. Y-PEER Egypt was launched in 2005 with only three NGOs and five active members. It started by conducting small-scale activities and pilot peer education trainings to increase its visibility and introduce its methodology in peer education to stakeholders. By 2019, Y-PEER expanded its reaches, working in 25 different governorates of Egypt with 170 NGOs and youth initiative campaigns as well as 15 universities, Ministry of youth and sports, Ministry of Health and population, National Council of Women and National Population Council. The network includes more than peer educators. Recently, Y-PEER Egypt worked on engagement of Syrian youth and young people as part of Egypt community with the rule of no exclusion. Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), which constitute a significant portion of Egypt’s economic fabric, are also deserving of our attention. We help small producers (particularly women) access a variety of tools that may help them enhance their businesses: legal, financial, and marketing advice; consultancy with product developers and designers; and virtual platforms which give access to a wider market. As a result, they increase their revenue, and we help create more sustainable jobs. We help create an entrepreneur-friendly environment, encouraging more and more Egyptians to bring their business ideas into the formal sector.

Banati Foundation
Overview: Abnaa El Ghad (Banati) Foundation was established in 2010 to protect and support children at risk, including children in street situations and those deprived of parental care. Such children are vulnerable and lead dangerous lives exposing them to different forms of exploitation as well as mental, physical and sexual abuse. Mission: Through our mobile unit, reception center and shelters, Banati provides a comprehensive range of high quality services which include psycho-social, legal, educational, medical and rehabilitative support. All our service providers undergo continous capacity building to ensure that we always offer a high-quality of care. The foundation aims to change negative public views of children at risk. It also lobbies for the enforcement of laws and decrees pertaining to child protection in Egypt and the Middle East through its work with governmental and non-governmental partners. Vision: Providing a second chance to children at risk and empowering them to overcome their difficult psycho-social conditions to become effective citizens. This is done through a comprehensive rehabilitation program at Banati Foundation which is revised regularly to be on a par with international care standards. We aim to make our foundation a center of excellence to be emulated by those working in the field in Egypt and the Middle East.

Our vision of promoting a non-formal education environment in Egypt is achieved through guidance, training, and mentorship using peer-to-peer learning, dialogue, debates, gamification, storytelling, talking circles, and interactive theater techniques.
