Overview Hand in Hand is a non-governmental organization established in 2010 in Tbilisi, Georgia Mission: to create worthy living conditions for people with disabilities and support their integration into society. The concept of developing community based services as alternative services for people who live in large institutions is new for Georgia. Economic Development And Empowerment Center
EDEC is an independent organization which was formed on the basis of Kutaisi Community Youth Center, established by World Vision Georgia in 2004 to support deinstitutionalization reform by the Government of Georgia. The aim was to prevent child abandonment by placing them in foster care and alternative care services. The community center administered pilot Small Group Homes, where children who were brought from large institutions lived in a family-like, caring environment. The center supported vulnerable families, assisted with finding sources of income, and reaching economic self-resilience. The Education Development and Employment Center, as an independent organization, was established on January 10, 2008, with the goal of improving social-economic conditions of youth, increasing community engagement, allowing citizens to become rightful members of society, and contributing to improved social-economic conditions in the region. In 2017, the center rebranded itself, and now serves its members and beneficiaries with a new image and a new drive. Today, the Education Development and Employment Center works throughout the country to support civil society development, education, child protection, and economic development. With its head office located in Kutaisi, EDEC runs regional offices in Zugdidi, Gori, Terjola, Samtredia and Saguramo. The organization has accumulated invaluable experience through working in rural and urban areas on protection of rights, provision of education, employment, small and medium business development, support to social entrepreneurship, advocacy and public awareness. With its portfolio encompassing over 60 successfully implemented projects, employing over 50 staff members, EDEC is now a strong institution.

Equality Movement (EM) is a membership-based organization, established in the year 2011. With two regional offices, 20 staff members, and up to 15 volunteers, EM is the largest LGBTI human rights organization in Georgia. Currently, EM unites 33 members across the country, and every two years, members are electing the board to General Assembly. EM is founded on a vision to live in a society free of sexism and homophobia, where persons’ gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation is not the reason for any kind of violence and LGBTQ persons and women are equal members of the society. In order to achieve this, the organization’s mission is to support and empower LGBTQ persons and women and also fight against sexism and homophobia in society. Regional Development Association, Rda Georgia
OUR EXPERIENCE Regional Development Association (RDA) is a non-profit organization registered in Georgia, founded in 2010 by a team of successful professionals of private and development sectors. RDA has been operating through total staff of about 40 full-time people, from a head office in Tbilisi and field offices in Akhaltsikhe (Samtskhe-Javakheti), Marneuli and Tsalka (Kvemo Kartli). RDA has been implementing since 2011 the Community Development Initiative (CDI) program funded by BP and its partners in Samtskhe Javakheti Region of Georgia. The project fosters socio-economic development of rural communities through formation of community-based organizations that raise funding and implement infrastructure rehabilitation projects. RDA coordinates community concerns to local government and civil society organizations in target villages. The program also creates revenue generation opportunities for locals by enabling peer-to-peer knowledge transfer and by funding and technical assistance of rural entrepreneurs to start-up or scale-up their businesses. RDA’s geographical coverage expanded to West Georgia during 2014-2017, after gaining an opportunity to implement Small Farmers Co-operation component of EU funded ENPARD Georgia program as part of the consortia led by CARE International in the Caucasus. RDA was in charge of field operations for development of sustainable agricultural cooperatives in seven districts of Samegrelo, Guria and Kvemo Svaneti. RDA was also developing the capacity of Georgian Farmers Association to lead a policy dialogue between the government and the farmers. In 2015, RDA became implementing entity of Micro and Small Entrepreneurship Support (MSES) Project in Samtskhe Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli. We built capacity of up to 4,500 locals and funded about 1700 small rural entrepreneurs throughout a 3-year period. The project is implemented under the Government’s initiative ‘Produce in Georgia’ administered by Enterprise Georgia. The MSES project is based on the successful small business assistance model delivered by the Community Development Initiative (CDI). The model which was shared by the Government of Georgia and applied across all regions in 2015 upon initiative of RDA. We consider this to be our major advocacy achievement! Since 2016, RDA became a partner with Chemonics, a leading US based organization, to implement a 5-year USAID private sector development project Zrda in Samtskhe Javakheti and Kvemo Kartli. In Zrda project, RDA is responsible for field operations, which include variety of rural development activities related to agriculture, tourism and ICT.

In 2001, AISI Rehabilitation and Social Adaptation Center was established in Tbilisi, Georgia, with the joint efforts of Prof. Givi Chikobava, MD, PhD, Director of the Clinic Gidmedi, his colleagues and friends. The center started fully operating in 2004. Our mission is to promote social inclusion and quality of life enhancement of people with disabilities through education, employment, physical rehabilitation and raising public awareness. In September 2013, AISI Center relocated to the new building offering a full range of services to children and adults with disabilities (physical and mental disorders): • Early identification; Assessment, treatment, medical and social rehabilitation from 0 to 5 years; • Promoting inclusive education for 6 to 14 years; • Prior professional training from 14 to 18 years; • Employment in open and closed markets over 18 years. The facilities and activities offered at the center: a greenhouse, a small farm, kitchen, art therapy sessions and workspaces, a swimming pool, an outdoor sports field, a gym, drama, music and drawing classes, etc. The center currently has 85 beneficiaries.

Shame Movement
Shame Movement is a prominent civil movement based in Georgia that was founded in June 2019. With a mission to promote Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration and advocate for democratic reforms, the movement operates with a focus on non-violent activism and has grown from its humble beginnings of 15 founding members to an organization boasting more than 200 activists across the country. Over the past three years, the Shame Movement has organized numerous mass demonstrations and awareness-raising campaigns aimed at influencing public policy and inspiring the younger generation to participate in the political process. These efforts have led to significant progress, including judicial and electoral amendments. The movement’s financial stability is ensured by contributions from the Open Society Georgia Foundation and long-term support from The European Endowment for Democracy and the National Endowment for Democracy. In order to reach a wider audience, Shame Movement has a strong online presence with a monthly reach of unique users via its Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Instagram, and TikTok channels. With the support of its partners and an unwavering commitment to its cause, Shame Movement continues to drive positive change and promote a more democratic and just society in Georgia.
