The Pythian Club
The Pythian Club was formed in 2014. Our key aim is to provide sustainable and unique programmes that directly work towards ending youth violence. The Pythian Club provide a framework to deliver art, sport and educational programmes which are underpinned by mentoring and supporting issues that are related to drugs and alcohol. The main purpose is to improve the quality of life for young people in our communities; this is achieved by working alongside the young people to address their social, educational and health needs. This enables them to play a greater role in their communities and society as a whole. An exceptional emphasis is placed on addressing the needs of those young people who are detached from services, socially excluded, vulnerable, at risk of falling into anti-social behaviour and crime, from disadvantaged backgrounds or Black, Minority and Emerging Ethnic communities. The Pythian Club believe that true power is empowering others with the unique and specialized programmes geared towards the wants, needs and interests of young people in our local communities, we aim to promote the necessary personal and social development that deters young people who are at risk of plunging into the traps of deprivation. This includes falling into patterns of crime, drugs, anti-social behaviour and other forms of marginalization. This is achieved by empowering individuals with an enhanced sense of self-esteem, through instilling leadership and self-awareness in our members. The Pythian Club provides music, boxing and football programmes and we have also launched a theatrical production called Double Edge which explores the effects of knife crime. We encourage young people to get involved and realise that they can make positive change in their lives and that of their community.

Make Cic
Make CIC sits firmly at the heart of the city’s creative and maker scene, where we’ve worked to support artists, makers and small businesses since 2012. Growing from the Baltic Triangle, where we’ve been based for more than five years, Make encompasses creative space in Baltic Creative – where we run a hub for small businesses and makers to grow and develop projects and ideas – with square feet of maker space on Regent Street, amidst the growing cultural cluster of Liverpool’s north docks. Make is the culmination of six years of research, planning and development from directors Kirsten Little and Liam Kelly. We combine, arts, textiles, education and mentoring backgrounds with our own experiences of running a business, to plug gaps in resources and provide support we struggled to find when we were setting up our own business. In Baltic, the city’s creative and digital cluster, Make supports small businesses and artists with flexible, accessible space in the area’s bustling Baltic Creative. At the North Docks, we’re housed slap bang in the middle of the city’s spiritual engine room, where things have been made and fixed for hundreds of years. In Birkenhead we're right in the heart of Hamilton Square with private and open plan studio space and at the heart of it all a community garden and cafe. Our three venues are open to members, residents and the public. We’re a place to work from, run workshops, events, and exhibitions; we’re a space for workers, makers, students and tutors; for artist’s talks and creative events; small parties, launches, meetings and exhibitions. Make is a place to share skills, make, fix and create; to learn and to teach; to try and tweak. We combine high tech ideas with traditional crafts; experienced hands with new skills. It’s a place to collaborate and create; a magnet for creatives, makers, dreamers and doers. Join us.

We currently provide a high-quality, personalised service to around 135 adults, helping them find purpose and empowerment in their daily lives as well as improving their overall wellbeing. Our approach centres around three key ‘purpose pods’: employability skills, health, and relationships. Daily sessions explore these areas through activities such as upcycling furniture, creating homeware, and making jams and chutneys. ‘Trainees’ (the adults with learning disabilities who we support) also have opportunities for paid employment in our social enterprise, Interestingly Different, or to develop valuable workplace skills in our recently opened coffee shop, Beans and Bloom. Cooking sessions focus on nutrition, healthy eating, and safe food preparation, while also offering a chance to socialise and enjoy shared meals. These experiences help trainees build independence and confidence, potentially reducing reliance on parents or carers. We also place a strong emphasis on physical and social wellbeing, with regular sessions in exercise, dance, meditation, and social interaction - fostering friendships and a sense of community. When surveyed, 100% of our trainees express feeling happier since joining Nickel Support.

Our activities empower the community to reduce waste and lower our carbon footprint. We empower those in our community who, due to social, financial, or medical inequities and exclusions, believe that reducing our impact on the climate is beyond their reach. Waste Innovation Station Headquarters (WISH) directly repurposes nonfood waste items. Oxford Party Library loans items from a bank of equipment and supplies to the community. Our aims are to- Reduce waste and facilitate a circular economy to make the most of resources available - Increase collective knowledge (e.g. through skills sharing and education)- Build a sustainable future for our community together Cherwell Collective’s guiding principles are- Friends helping friends; everyone who accesses our services has the opportunity to contribute back to the group, and most of our core volunteers are users of the services as well. We are non means tested and inclusive by design- Keep it green and keep it clean; climate change is a very real issue, and we all have a part to play if we want to slow down the impact it is having on our planet. We reduce waste, reuse, recycle, repurpose, and re-home any and everything we can. We keep it green not only in our kitchens and gardens, but right down to the way we run our organisations- No food left behind; food waste is another important issue we are committed to tackling. We like to think of new ways to use food that might have otherwise gone to waste, and share our passion for food waste reduction with the community- Education is empowering; we follow the “teach a man to fish” principle and emphasise the value of education around things like cooking, meal planning, healthy alternatives, and seasonal eating.

Rosie's Trust
Founded in 2015, Rosie’s Trust is the only charity in Northern Ireland dedicated to helping cancer patients, people receiving end of life care and older people with mobility issues to keep their companion pets by their side. For people who are isolated, lonely and vulnerable, their pets are often their reason to live. They act as their family, their carer, their companion and their best friend. They give comfort and unconditional love, and a reason to get up in the morning. But when these people find themselves in difficult circumstances, be it going through cancer treatment, or dealing with illness and mobility issues, they can find it difficult to continue caring for their pets. This means that in their lowest moments, when they need them the most, people are forced to give up their pets. They’re forced to give up their best friends, their family, and their reason to live. At Rosie’s Trust, we prevent this from happening.

Evolve & Adapt
Evolve & Adapt is an organisation that was established with the aim of meeting the forever growing complex needs of young people across our schools and wider community. Research would suggest that more young people than ever before are demonstrating challenging behaviour in school, have unmet SEN needs, have experienced adverse childhood experiences, live in areas of social deprivation, are involved in criminal/gang activity and are at risk of exploitation linked to CSE, radicalisation and drug/alcohol misuse. As a result, the rate of fixed term exclusions and permanent exclusions have increased nationwide, school attendance has decreased and with the recent exam reforms and reduction in vocational courses offered, more young people than ever before are disengaged with their learning and becoming NEET post 16. Further to this the rate of youth crime is increasing and many communities lack the facilities and resources needed to foster strong community links and support their most vulnerable. Evolve & Adapt deliver a portfolio of mentoring & education services to Schools, Local Authorities, Youth Offending Services, Social Services, Youth Groups and a range of other community projects. We have successfully worked with a wide variety of students across inner and outer London Boroughs with schools reporting a reduction in exclusions, social care reporting improved engagement, youth offending reporting a reduction in re-offending rates and SEN reporting a faster successful re-integration rate for some of their most complex students into appropriate educational placements.
