LinkedIn Page Description for TEN/MET: Tanzania Education Network/Mtandao wa Elimu Tanzania (TEN/MET) stands as a dynamic force in Tanzania's education landscape since its establishment in As a national network comprising 184 Civil Society Organization (CSO) members, TEN/MET is dedicated to coordinating and fortifying the efforts of education-focused CSOs, including international NGOs. Our mission is to advocate for equitable access to quality education and amplify the voices of local communities to influence policies for all learners in Mainland Tanzania. Key Highlights: Establishment and Evolution: Initially registered as a company limited by guarantee in 2005, TEN/MET transitioned to NGO status under the NGOs Act No.24, 2002, in 2015. Our operational framework aligns with the 2015 constitution, recently amended in 2021. Beneficiaries: As a non-state actor, our impact extends to both direct and indirect beneficiaries. Direct beneficiaries encompass children, students, youths, communities, and teachers, while indirect beneficiaries include parents/guardians, Central Government, Local Government Authorities (LGAs), research institutions, and fellow CSOs. Stakeholder Collaboration: TEN/MET collaborates closely with diverse stakeholders such as students, teachers, media, government departments, development partners, private sector organizations, UN agencies, and other civil society associations.
