Siog - International Society Of Geriatric Oncology
To improve the care of older patients with cancer around the world” Older patients with cancer, particularly those older than age 70 years, have specific needs that are not present in younger patients. It is well established that the traditional oncology evaluation is not adequate and will fail to uncover many specific problems. Geriatric assessment will no longer be the purview of the geriatrician but will need to be incorporated into daily practice in all oncology fields. Therefore, all oncologists need to become well-educated geriatric oncologists. The International Society of Geriatric Oncology, or Société Internationale d’ Oncologie Gériatrique in French, hence the acronym SIOG, was founded in and was officially registered as a Not-for-profit organisation under the Swiss law in October 2012. SIOG is a multidisciplinary society, including physicians in the fields of oncology and geriatrics, and allied health professionals. SIOG has over community members in more than 90 countries around the world who care for above 4’300 older patients with cancer. The major risk factor for cancer is age, and with the aging of the world population, a major epidemiologic challenge is before us. The goal of SIOG is to foster the development of health professionals in the field of geriatric oncology, in order to optimize treatment of older adults with cancer. SIOG promotes efforts in 3 strategic directions: education, clinical practice & research through annual and regional educational events, advanced courses and e-learning, practice guidelines, scientific and advocacy publications, etc.

Vulture Conservation Foundation
The Vulture Conservation Foundation is an international non-governmental organisation committed to the conservation of Europe's vultures: Bearded Vultures, Cinereous Vultures, Egyptian vultures and Griffon Vultures. All these European vulture species have a highly vulnerable status, and over the last century they have suffered dramatic declines in their numbers due to a range of factors such as habitat loss, direct persecution and reduction in food availability. Since 1978 we have been leading one of the world’s most successful wildlife comeback stories, the return of the Bearded Vulture to the Alpine mountain range. Just 40 years ago the species was extinct, but since 1986 we have been working with many partners in countries across the Alps to reintroduce the species and with over 50 breeding pairs the Bearded Vulture is now re-established across the region. But our work continues as populations of all vultures across Europe face threats such as illegal poisoning, lack of food availability and collisions at wind farms and power lines, which is putting the recovery of some populations at risk. Through our work and with an experienced team of dedicated wildlife conservationists and scientists we have extensive experience in captive-breeding, reintroduction and protection of vultures in their natural habitat. We work with people, governments and organisations to initiate, facilitate and support conservation actions and research to support the recovery of vultures across Europe and beyond.

Waterlex
Established in 2010 and closed in 2020, WaterLex was an international non-governmental organization (NGO) and thinktank. Setup as a not-for-profit association under Swiss Law, it enjoyed among others UN ECOSOC and Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) consultative status, as well UN Water and Global Water Partnership (GWP) Partner status. WaterLex was convinced that securing access to safe drinking water to all required a management and governance of water as a resource, in an integrated, intersectoral and inclusive manner (i.e. with the active involvement of affected and vulnerable communities). WaterLex mission was to secure the Human Rights to Water and Sanitation through law and policy reforms. WaterLex therefore worked with an alliance of interested parties to improve water-governance frameworks, by bringing them in line with country obligations under international human rights law. The interested parties were primarily parliamentarians, but also individuals and groups working in government (incl. diplomatic missions and bilateral cooperation agencies), academia (professors of law, researchers), the judiciary (high/supreme courts judges, and members of NHRIs), the UN system (UN-Water family members), and civil society organisations working on water issues. WaterLex had a permanent secretariat in Geneva with 15 staff members, a supervisory board of directors, and a large pool of members and expert advisors. Peace Dividend Initiative
The Peace Dividend Initiative (PDI) is a peace-dividend accelerator, bridging the gap between peace mediation and economic actors, to harness market forces for peace in conflict-prone regions. Headquartered in Geneva, it is connected to peacemakers, international organisations, governments, investors, and entrepreneurs. PDI relies on extensive field networks that provide leading conflict analysis, trusted introductions, and on the-ground operational capability in the world’s most conflict-affected countries. PDI’s interventions focus on the hardest-to-reach actors and conflict-affected areas, and deploy only where PDI’s efforts can make a real difference in addressing persistent gaps in the market response.
