Amigues Patud Da Mia Em Cabo Verde
Amigues patud da Mia em Cabo Verde” is cape verdian creole for “Mia’s furry friends in Cape Verde” We are a group founded by Martin and Elizabeth Holzke in 2025 supporting animals in need in Cape Verde, namely on the island of Sal. We help with various aspects that locals often can’t afford, as much as they love their animals, e.g. feeding, treating them against ticks, fleas, worms and other parasites, arrange vet visits as required, support neutering efforts etc. The work of our volunteers on the ground in Sal entirely depends on donations from people world-wide. Many things like treatments or special food is difficult to get in Sal and hence regularly are brought by people coming out to Sal and gratefully received. Just get in touch find out what is needed. Likewise, we are grateful for financial donations to cover costs for food, treatments, vet bills and sometimes required transport. Junt'amor
Junt’amor is a Portuguese NGO working in Santo Antão, Cabo Verde, through community-based projects focused on education, healthcare, and social inclusion. We believe change begins with access to knowledge, care, and active community participation. We train educators, support over 30 kindergartens, distribute school kits to thousands of children, and establish community libraries in remote island areas. In the area of health, we promote health literacy through screenings, awareness sessions, and basic care delivered to schools, care centers, and communities with limited access to medical services. We also encourage healthy lifestyle practices among older adults, contributing to longevity and improved quality of life. We work with at-risk youth through sports and personal development, organize solidarity and cultural fairs, and lead social, environmental, and digital citizenship initiatives. All of our projects are developed with and for the Cape Verdean community. We believe that we can build a fairer, healthier, and more opportunity-filled future for all with empathy and collaboration.
