Pro Vietnam
PRO Vietnam is a coalition of leading FDI and Vietnamese companies having high prestige from consumer goods, packaging, retail, and import industries, and especially a common responsibility: make Vietnam Green, Clean, and Beautiful by promoting a circular economic model through more accessible and sustainable packaging collection and recycling process. This is an important pillar in the 3R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle). PRO Vietnam was founded in Ho Chi Minh City on June 21, 2019. PRO Vietnam marks the first time that competing businesses are collaborating in Vietnam to collectively work on improving the environment of Vietnam. As leading brands in Vietnam which interact thousands of employees, millions of consumers and customers, and billions of products launched every year, companies in this coalition understand that while packaging helps to solve one problem, they can contribute to another. This is especially so, where there is inadequate waste management and a lack of recycling infrastructure. When recycling is not done properly, the packaging becomes a wasted resource that our planet cannot sustain. To achieve our ambition, PRO Vietnam’s model is executed on four pillars:(1) increase consumer’s awareness about package sorting and recycling;(2) improve the current ecosystem of collecting and recycling packaging;(3) foster recycling programs from package-manufacturing factories;(4) co-operate with government in the “Recycle” aspect of 3R (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) and through its unique voluntary, public-private partnership aims to improve livelihood conditions and create jobs for individuals and businesses working on post-consumer packaging.

Consortium For Health Action
Consortium for Health Action was established in the USA in 2016, but its origins can be traced back to 1982 when Dr. Ohrt visited Tanzania as a Gustavus Adolphus College student when he saw many children were dying from chloroquine-resistant malaria and no alternative treatments were available. In 1989, he chose malaria as the disease he would commit his life to, because at the time, it was a totally neglected disease, killing millions of people. In 1991, he joined the US Army to find solutions for the newly emerging incurable malaria strains emerging on the Thai-Cambodian border. After 3.5 years in Thailand, Cambodia and Indonesia, he returned to Walter Reed Army Institute of Research in Silver Spring, Maryland to work on new drugs to fight malaria. Tafenoquine, the drug he spent most of his career developing has just completed the last human testing before approvals. Dr. Alan Magill was his key mentor. Based on Dr. Magill’s recommendation as the Malaria Lead at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Dr. Ohrt returned to “the field.” In Southeast Asia, Dr. Ohrt is following his dream of eliminating malaria from the place where the resistant strains emerge and spread. Colonel (retired) Ohrt started Consortium for Health Action in 2016 in order to empower the already strong institutions in the region to adopt the new technologies and to link the critical partners needed to eliminate emerging incurable malaria from the region to stop history from repeating itself. As malaria disappears from the region, he will progressively shift focus to tackle the underlying cause of malaria, poverty, and other conditions related to poverty such as malnutrition and maternal-child mortality. He also plans to return to East Africa where he has extensive experience with malaria epidemiology and diagnostics quality improvement while posted at Walter Reed.

Echo Project
ECHO Project is an independent project founded in 2016. Our main goal is to provide classes, workshops and programs that can inspire Vietnamese youth to grow confidently as Global citizens. At ECHO, we believe that every single one of us is different, every single one of us has something we are good at, something special. We believe that if young people are given the opportunities to enhance their language skills, to equip themselves with life skills and to be engaged in a values-based and actions-based environment, they will be able to develop themselves and fulfill their potential. As a result, they can approach more opportunities to study, to work and to succeed, while driving the world towards economically, socially and environmentally advantageous ends. Since 2016, we have engaged 53 volunteers to provide 14 free English classes for over 180 underprivileged children (aged from 6 to 18 years old) living in Ho Chi Minh city; organize a science fair in 2017, an exchange program in 2018; and host more than 50 workshops for over 600 participants (aged from 6 to 30 years old). We also produce videos focusing on English pronunciation and grammar. In 2021, we aim to launch our first online multi-language course for people between the ages of 16 and 30 years old, to raise awareness and increase acceptance of cultural diversity, along with our train-the-trainer workshops with topics focused on career orientation, digital literacy, sustainable development, social innovation and entrepreneurship.
