The Peace Research Institute Oslo (PRIO) is an independent, international and interdisciplinary research institute, founded in 1959. Its purpose is to conduct research on the conditions for peaceful relations between states, groups and people. PRIO’s research targets scholars, policy-makers, practitioners and the general public. The institute cultivates the highest standards of academic excellence, and is a leader in shaping the global peace research agenda. PRIO has an international research staff of approximately 120 members in full and part-time positions, plus 15 in administrative and support functions. The working language at the institute is English. Researchers at PRIO identify new trends in global conflict, formulate and document new understandings of and responses to armed conflict. We seek to understand how people are impacted by and cope with armed conflict, and we study the normative foundations of peace and violence. Key questions on PRIO's research agenda are why wars break out, how they are sustained, and what it takes to build durable peace. PRIO contributes to theoretical and methodological development both within specific academic disciplines, and through cross-fertilization between disciplines. PRIO also contributes to the development of a new generation of scholars through our Research School in Peace and Conflict (PhD level). PRIO engages in the promotion of peace through conflict resolution, dialogue and reconciliation, public information and policymaking activities. Cp. Foodlab was established in July of 1991 with the primary purpose of offering its services to the food industry and the water distributors/bottlers. Its aim was to cover the needs in hygiene testing along with the product improvement and development. However, the increasing demand in such services, mainly due to the fact that the island has join the European Union, led the laboratory to re-examine its scope, and in 1994 it introduced environmental analyses as well. Shortly after, the rapid increase in the production of pharmaceuticals and the subsequent need for related analyses led the laboratory to re-examine its services offerings, thus introducing new analyses in this specialized sector of the industry (1996). In 2006 the laboratory further expanded its services by establishing a research department which initiated its operation by participations in projects both nationally and internationally. The laboratory personnel today include people with a variety of specializations and degrees. The laboratory as a team of professionals, offers solutions to industrial problems, services to the governmental sector, individuals, the hotel and catering establishments, the pharmaceuticals sector as well as overseas companies/industries. The laboratory analyzes more than samples per year covering most of the local requirements on the island.

We are a non-profit research, education, and development organization founded by an interdisciplinary and international network of scientists focusing on mountain studies. We are based at Troodos mountain, Cyprus. Our mission is to advance scholarship, advise leaders and policymakers, and develop practical, research-based projects with communities on the ground to address the Mediterranean mountain regions' contemporary social, environmental, and economic challenges. Our vision is the sustainable development of Mediterranean mountain regions and the endogenous development of mountain societies.

Psm Lab Emi, Earthing & Corrosion - Ucy
The Power System Modelling (PSM) Laboratory operates under the auspices of the ECE department of the University of Cyprus. It has been formally established in 2013 and its primary expertise lies in the area of Electrical Control and Analysis of DC/AC Interference & Corrosion. PSM (EMI, Earthing and Corrosion) lab has gained a world-wide recognition in this area by publishing research results in top quality research journals and by providing modelling solutions and evaluation tools for a number of sound projects across the world. Some examples of these projects include the: a) DC Stray Current Corrosion Design for Thessaloniki’s New Metro System - Greece (2014), b) AC/DC Interference Analysis and Mitigation Design for Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) section Kavala – Albania (2016) and c) DC Stray Current Corrosion Analysis of a Tram-Train Project between Sheffield and Rotherham (UK). By virtue of its research activities and expert knowledge, PSM maintains close collaboration with industry and has secured industrial funding in the order of 0.5 million in the last couple of years. In particular, PSM lab has collaborated and maintains close collaboration links with Intertek, Network Rail UK, National Grid UK, Alstom Grid UK, Ansaldo (IT), J&P (GR), Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) operator, ELEMKO, SA (GR), Distribution System Operator of Cyprus and the Electricity Authority of Cyprus.

Research Institute Promitheas
The Research Institute Promitheas is a non-profit research Centre founded in 2012 in Nicosia Cyprus, with the aim to promote interdisciplinary research. The fundamental goals of the Institute include the promotion, conduct and use of systematic scientific research as a tool of critical analysis, dialogue and understanding of the political, social, economic and cultural environment. Its research interests include – but are not exhausted to – issues of society, culture, history, youth, human rights, gender studies, media, and European issues. The materialization of the research goals, as well as the creative and critical intervention of the Institute in the Cypriot society, is achieved through a combination of tools and methods: carrying out studies, analyses, events, seminars, lectures, workshops, public debates, publications, cultural events, book festivals. Promitheas has extensive experience on issues and actions relating to the participation of young people in democratic life and processes, gender issues, as well as phenomena such as hate speech and crimes, anti-discrimination awareness-raising campaigns promoting the right of all people to participation and inclusion in the social sphere. One of the central fields of action of the Institute aspires to be the organization, undertaking and participation in bi-community actions, research, and studies, with the aim of the peaceful reunification of our homeland. At the same time, we consider the development of critical thinking in Cyprus to be an important prerequisite both for achieving the goal of reunification and for the democratic and peaceful education of Cypriots. Through the systematic and methodical development of progressive thinking and social consciousness for civil, political, cultural, economic, and social rights, the Institute contributes, among other things, to the removal of any discrimination due to gender, origin, beliefs, or other individual choices.

Hybland-Eu Research Project Marie Sklodowska-Curie
This project has received funding from the ’ research and innovation programme under the - grant agreement. The “” project will develop a novel method for the construction of landslide susceptibility and hazard maps using as testbed the Paphos District. The methodology will be based on the use of classical geotechnical research and modern Earth Observation technologies in a combination of multimodal determinist and Machine Learning approaches. The produced maps will identify with high reliability the areas which are susceptible to landslides. These results will help the decision-makers in taking the most suitable preventive measures and management actions towards protecting the built environment and securing sustainable urban development. The primary research interests of include engineering geology, geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, natural disasters and land use planning. The graduation of from a five-year based program as a Mining and Metallurgy Engineer (NTUA) was followed by two MSc degrees in the ‘Design and construction of underground works’ (Mining Engineering, NTUA) and in ‘Technoeconomic systems” (Electrical Engineering, NTUA). The latter provided him with valuable knowledge on project management and administration. The researcher holds a PhD in the field of Engineering Geology, and has proven his capacity to produce quality results, which have been published in high-impact scientific journals. He has an excellent knowledge and experience in soil and rock mechanics laboratory testing, Natural Hazards risk assessment and the use of numerical modelling programs (such as Plaxis 3D). During his postdoctorat he had the opportunity to work on the validation of the Earth Observation techniques (EOT).
